Alright, I just fixed my buddy up with a nice setup, but after the DIY install the sound isnt as expected. He is currently running a JVC KD-G800 Headunit, Rockford Fosgate 4x6 in the front, an Alpine MRP-M350 Amp, 2 12" Phoenix Gold XS 124 DVC subs. We have everything hooked up but I find that the overall sound level isnt very loud. The subs dont seem to be recieving full power from the amp. Some assistance would be great, Thanks.

The Alpine amp you listed above is not nearly enough power for those subs. The closest Model# I can find for those subs suggest that they are 250 watts rms per voicecoil or 500 watts rms per sub.The Alpine amp is only capable of 200 watts rms @ 2 ohm load.
Simply put,you need a much bigger amp.1000 watts rms would get the most out of those subs.

Agreed... but 1000 watts RMS may also put his electrical system in the tank as well.

Depending on the ALT output capacity and his BAT CCA rating, that much power draw could mean a failed ALT in no time.

Can he exchange that Alpine amp for a larger one? Something that will deliver 500 or more RMS watts at 1 ohm would be a big improvement. Class D MONO amp is best as it is very efficient with power in VS watts out.

How did he wire his DVC's? That may also have a lot to do with his lack of bass output. Please explain in detail.

Im sure he can exchange the amp for a larger one, it was purchased at a bigbox electronics store. The subs are currently being run in parallel for 4 ohms. I wired them according to this -http://www.phoenixgold.com/tutorial/two_DVC.htm (the first picture). Also the amp says if 2 4 ohm subs are wired, the amp outputs 350watts. If you need anymore info just ask. Thanks

Part of the issue is the subs had to be wired 4 ohms for this amp. Good choice and all you can do with that sub onfiguration.

That amp will put out 200 watts at 4 ohms. It will do 350 at the target 2 ohm load. So, at the moment, each sub is getting 100 watts RMS. Not bad bass... but these subs can take and give a lot more.

A better choice would be something that can do a 1 ohm load and deliver closer to rated power of the subs. Do you have the specs handy on these subs? Seems like an older PG version not found off their website.

Am thinking the JBL BP 600.1 Class D Mono amp might be a better fit here for these subs. It will do 1 ohm loads, is Class D so more efficient with power in and watts out. With this amp, you'll get 300+ RMS to each sub. It's nominal current draw is about 45A., with a max current draw of 57 amperes. That's about the limit for #8 gage power wire & ground.
