jbl 600.1 signal to noise-90 db's-http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Owner%27s%20Manual/bp_om.pdf infinity kappas signal to noise-96 db's. does this matter any, would a amplifier that plays at 96 db or higher sound better? Replies (3) swez on 04/25/2004 11:27:39 The S/N ratio is a measure of how much noise free gain is available from the amp. The higher that number, the better. This assumes a clean signal in and a gain ratio that adds very little noise to the audio output of the amp. Anything over 80 dB is a good number. It's when one gets <60 dBn, you may notice some sound degradation.
