Would it be smart to run 2 amps that are 150 rms @ 4 ohms and hook each sub up to one amp or just stick with the 1 amp you mentioned the US Acoustics USB-600D- 300 rms @ 2 ohms??? The subs are 12" 500W max Pioneer- TSW34C. Thanks Replies (5) asplundher on 04/23/2004 10:15:50 The one amp will be more efficient in power (class D) and a easier hookup. Try the USB amp. I think you will like their amps plus when you get it from Crutchfield it has a three year warranty! Can't beat that! swez on 04/23/2004 11:11:39 In this case, one good amp will cost less and be easier to install. You can easily wire up 2 subs to most MONO amps as long as you know the lowest ohmic rating th amp can handle. In the USB-600D, it is 2 ohms for maximum output and efficiency. You get 300 RMS net into a 2 ohm load... 150 RMS/sub. These are 4 ohm subs. Wire them in parallel to the amp. Good to go! Swez jrodk2124 on 04/23/2004 11:18:35 I got the crutchfield magazine (winter/spring). Should I get the USB-2100 100Wx2 or 300x1. It says it is 150 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms. Is this what I should order? Or do you have another opinion? Thank you for your time and knowledge asplundher on 04/23/2004 15:35:28 Since you have two 4 ohm subs the 600D is the better choice. It is specifically made for that type of setup. The 2100 would have to have two 8 (or 2) ohm subs to get the max out of it. Go with the 600D, you won't be sorry! jrodk2124 on 04/23/2004 15:44:08 Thanks! I'll be ordering the 600D soon and fill you in on how it's going. thanks again for the info Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
