Hey guys,
I have never ever done anything with my car audio system before. I drive a VW Golf. Its got the Bose speakers from the factory. Its got a pretty good system with 8 speakers. But, its not like heart pounding sound. U know what I mean. I am thinking about getting some subs and an amp and install it my self. I guess its a lot cheaper. But, I have no idea how to do it. I am not looking for some fancy subs or any brand names. I am looking for some decent ones that are pretty affordable. Do you think that the ones that are on sale in Best buy and other stores are good enough?
Well, I need some advice about what to buy and I really need some help in installation. I am willing to spend about $300... If any one can help me out, it would be great...
Thanks Guys
K.C

Out of the Frying pan and into the fire.
First things first.
1) Do you have any 12 volt electrical knowledge?(basic)
2)Are you a handy person?..Like are you comfortable using electric tools(drill, table saw ,skill saw,jig saw)?
3)Would you want to buy a pre-fabricated box or build your own?
4)What size subs do you want?
5)How much room are you willing to spare for this box?
6)Do you want heavy bass or quality bass?
7)Do want to keep factory head unit(Radio)?

Think about this and answer all and we will try to assist you.
Please read theFAQ section of this site also.
Since you have no install experince try reading as much information as you can at sites like these:
EATEL.NET
BCAE1.com
INSTALLDR.COM

Good research will make this job a lot less painful.

Welcome to CK.We are here to help.

Mike
