Sorry I lied... The amp I have is a Crossfire mosfet 100W x 4 power amp. Model # CFA-4046. Would this amp be why my 12" 500 watts max Pioneer subs (model # TSW34C) sound like sh1t? Or is this amp OK to use with my subs? If it's not the amp, could it be the wireing I used to connect the subs to the box. It's some cheap car speaker wire from Wal-Mart. It's called AUDIO Speakerconnect made by Royal Cable. It says high performance speaker wire, deeper bass, greater clarity, better imaging, cleaner highs. Is this speaker wire no good? Should I run and get some Monster speaker wire? Or is this wire not the problem, the problem is the amp???Thanks for all the help! Replies (4) uochronos on 04/21/2004 23:27:20 some people swear by super expensive wire as long as its large enough gauge wire it should be fine unless you have put thousands into a system and want to squeeze out the last little bit you can get. i could not find your amp on crossfires site i could only fin the cfa-404 and if this is your amp then this amp is not nearly powerfull enough to drive those subs only 50watts per channel... i would say these subs sounding not up to par is probaly 80% amp and 20% enclosure and other misc. things. thats just my opinion from what i have seen you post here saintanddolphin on 04/22/2004 00:19:43 If this is the CFA-404 ,it would deliver 200 watts rms bridged @2 ohm load(parallel) That would be 100 watts rms per sub. Your subs are rated @ 150 watts rms each. The amp is a class Ab amp.An Ab class amp is only capable of 50-60% efficiency meaning that you would only get 100-120 watts total rms bridged(50-60 watts rms each). Crossfire makes some very good equipment its just that this amp model was not built to drive a sub but rather interior speakers.I would suggest a class d amp with @ least 300 watts rms @ 2ohms.
