I am looking for a decent sub with just a little bit more of a focus on SPL rather than SQ, but nothing that just burps out SPL. I don't want to spend more than $150 or so. I am not against buying something that is used off of E-bay. My amp is a MTX-81000D. I was pushing a Alpine SWR-1521D. It lasted me 2 years and I just blew it. Any suggestions would be appreciated Replies (6) uochronos on 04/18/2004 14:03:33 elemetal designs is having a clearance sale anf have some killer deals. the e12o handls 200-650watts rms in a sealed 1.5 cubic foot box for 165$ shipped 3 year warranty. and the e12k handls 200-500watts for 120$ shipped.. also some other subs from then fr good deals http://207.36.230.62/storecatalog.asp?userid=2 toneowski on 04/19/2004 16:45:44 I now realize that I left out a little information. I already have an enclosure. and I am looking fo r a 15" sub. My amp puts out 1000W X1 with a 2 Ohm Load and 500W X 1with a 4 Ohm Load. Any suggestions? cybersailor420 on 04/19/2004 17:02:58 can you tell us the internal volume of the enclosure? is it ported or sealed? what is the brand and model # of the amp? this will allow everyone here to give you better suggestions. kiaman on 04/20/2004 01:06:23 if its 500w rms @ 2 ohms.....and your box is fair sized (3cf sealed or 4 cf ported) go with an adire audio tempest, i have one in my house and its wangin with 272w swez on 04/20/2004 08:05:42 I too, think the Adire Tempest would be a good option here. It is a 8+8 DVC. So, wiring it in parallel for a net 4 ohm load (500 watts RMS) will not overload the sub if the enclosure is within sub specs. At $150.00, this is a very good option to balance power output and still maintain adequate SPL. http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_audio/drivers/tempest.htm http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/TempestTechSummary.PDF Swez kiaman on 04/20/2004 14:36:23 errr i ment 4 ohms......used to thinkin D4 and not D8 bah....anyways yup....tempest wangs :D Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
