does anyone know how to uninstall the factory am/fm stereo in a 1991 mercury capri? or knows a link that gives instructions?

If I am not mistaken you have the common Ford HU.You can buy a single din factory Ford removal tool from a local auto parts store(its two pieces of u-shaped metal that usually has a little point on the ends).
There are 4 small square holes in each corner of the face of the HU.You simply take one tool and insert it in the holes of one side and then take the other tool and insert it in the othe holes on the opposite side.
Push the pins in till they stop(just a little moderate force should be plenty).
I always make my own with metal coat hangers(I am cheap like that).Just take a hanger and put around a 1" bend in it.Guesstamate about 6" from the center of the bend and cut the prongs off even.You will have to make two of them but you can make both out of the same hanger.
Give it a try.Nothing more satisfying than getting it done with out spending a penny.
