Friend of mine is up in a small town in central Florida and there's only best buy and circuit city to buy gear from. I found these three choices from their websites. The question is, which one is a better choice to run off the JVC HU? They'll be going in the rear doorpanels of a 1997 Ford F-150 Ext.Cab http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826174215&skuId=5272484&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03078 http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&catoid=-8868&qp=0&oid=69873&m=0 http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&catoid=-8868&qp=0&oid=67916&m=0 the HU http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-JVC_JVC_KD_G300_MP3_CD_Player Replies (4) saintanddolphin on 04/9/2004 00:19:35 i dont think you will get one person to say that"your friend should get the pioneers"..it justwould not be a fair fight...ihave read numerous topics on several forums about quality speakers and the bottom line is reprodution..the average driver doesnt want or need any high end gear to replace factory speakers if they arejust looking for a little clarity..if your friend just wants a better quality sound and doesnt plan on adding additional power to them then the infinities imo are far superior in sound quality and clarity..these are going in the rear doors right?if he is a little more open to choices then a quality pair of mid bass drivers would probably be a better alternative especially if he does not have any type of base driver..midbass in the rear doors could dramaticly enhance sq sound stage..but if he is just wanting a better than stock speaker and those are his only 2 choices then i would have to say infinity. saint (mike) HAPPY uochronos on 04/9/2004 03:12:30 i have a pair of pioneer premier 6/8s in my wifes car and they do very well for her nice clarity and decent spl a bit spendy though. ibnfinity defiantly make some good speakers though like the kapa series.but none of your links worked for me... i would suggest you suggest to your friend to buy online... for instance CDT has a 4" 5.75" and 6.5" speaker for only 44$ a pair and these are nice at www.thezeb.com also can probaly get infinity speakers on ebay for a good deal usualy 30-50% off what circuit city or best buy would be... i personaly would never suggest best buy or circuit sity to buy from they tend to sell products that look the same as others but arnt as good. i myself almost got duped by them i bought my deck 2 years ago a pioneer premier deh-p640 and from the looks of it best buy had it 50$ cheaper then the car audio place and they swore it was the saem one i then learned the one they had was the deh-p6400 and that one 0 made alot of differnce in features anmd sound quality when i heard them and saw both models next to each other. blacktallon2000 on 04/9/2004 15:26:54 I checked out The Zeb and their CDT 6.5" and 5.25" two way full range and midbass speakers are very affordable. Question is will they fit in a 5x7 opening. Does CDT make 5x7, 6x8, or 6x9 speakers ? If they'll fit then I might as well buy them online instead of having him buy the best buy speakers. uochronos on 04/9/2004 16:48:42 i have 6x8 holes in my truck and i mounted 6.5" speakers in the whole. you can either just mount in in the whole or do as i did in my current vehicle and get a piece of wood or plexi glass cut 7x9 and have a 6.5 inch hole cut into the center of it and mount the speaker in the custom wood and the wood too the hole in the door. i had that done for 2 speakers out of 1/2" plexiglass and it cost me 20$ for it and it would have only been 10$ if you have a router to cut the hole in it but since i didnt i had them do it for me.
