I'm adding subs and amp to a 2000 ford mustang, and want to retain the factory deck for now. I'm going to use the high level input on the amp. Two quick questoins. With the factory system work in this setup. I'm not sure but i think it has the mach 460 in it. second. Can i feed to amp from the rear speakers? or should i go up to the deck? Any help would be great.Thanks. Replies (5) ttocs on 04/8/2004 23:14:02 we need to get a more definite answer on the mach question. It should be easy to spot. They had it written on the tweeters in the door, and across the rear speakers. What are you adding/replacing to the stock system? Broncoguy89 on 04/9/2004 11:20:15 Only a amp and sub, nothing special. No changes to anything else yet. I'll find out about the 460 thing, does that make a big difference? swez on 04/9/2004 22:23:55 I was reading a few things off e-bay and it seems the Mach 460 has power amps off the HU that feed stock speakers. No output numbers were mentioned, but if this system is outboard amped, just a matter of bringing down the speaker voltage to a usable range for a sub amp seems reasonable. I too, am curious about the Ford Mach 460 series system. As you guys learn more about same, please post it so we can all learn something on this subject. Swez ttocs on 04/10/2004 10:39:03 Whatcha wanna know? uses a componant system up front and regular 5 x 7's in the rear along with a 7 inch free air sub. It does ok but the sub will certainly not win any spl comps. The amp for the coupe are mounted to the rear deck lid beside the sub. The entire system can normaly be easyily bypassed as there is the premium sound hrns plugged into the radio, but down in the consol is the regular ford speaker hrns that goes straight to the speakers... The one I am waiting to get (94 gt) has it, for now..... ttocs on 04/10/2004 10:41:18 It would be alot better if it didn't have it....... Copyright ClubKnowledge 2010 * All Rights Reserved |
