Reply Posted: 04/6/2004 00:04:28 by: Jai_Who ( Delete ) Wassup Guys..iM jai..got a nu gallant...jus threw in the pioneer avhp6500dvd flip..installed it myself n it works good..but it seems as if my amp wont power up..its a kenwood 800watt...threw in my two 30A fuses in the back...grounded it...put in the rem and rca wires n connected my battery to amp wire...it seems as if every time i place the grounded wire on any piece of metal in the trunk the amp powers up n the ground wires spark on that piece of metal..but a couple of seconds later the 30a amp fuses seem to blow out..what might the problem be?...are my wires not connected right?...too much power hitten the amp?..or is the amp jus messed up? If the fuses are blowing when you have the amp powered up, try removing the RCA lines and speaker connections and then power up the amp. Make sure you have the proper power wires connected to the right input lugs. Hot (+12 volt post) from BAT to amp + lug, ground to chassis or body metal. (a bare metal ground is best) If the amp still blows fuses, something inside the amp has gone south and a repair tech is needed. Figure ~$60.00 plus parts to get it running again. If the amp turns on, stays on and does not blow fuses, that may mean the amp is OK, but you may have a problem with shorted subs or wrong load resistance in wiring of subs.
