II want to install a new radio in my car... i just bouth the thing, but i just figured out that i want to install a suf woofer as well. My question is... Do i need to get a radio that has sub connections included or can i still plug a sub without them? this is my first experience in car radios and i'm really at the basics. Any help and sugestions would be appreciated. Thank. Replies (2) uochronos on 04/5/2004 03:20:28 it makes it alot easier to have the sub woofer out puts on the rasdio although with some after market parts you can hook a sub up wihtout them. i would suggest just buying one that has the out puts you need. swez on 04/5/2004 10:04:00 Yep, using a new HU with Preouts for a sub is the best option. Some better HU's have 4 channel outs plus a sub out. They can be used to amp all speakers and sub this way. A few $ more... but think of this as an investment to build off of as you have time, funds and inclinations to do so. If you already have the HU and it does not have a sub output RCA, can use a device called an LOC (Line out Converter) off the rear speakers to convert speaker voltage levels to RCA levels, then connect your amp/sub to these. Say more about your HU (Radio) and what you plan to do for a sub. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
