I just bought a kicker KX1200.1 and i built a amp rack for it, it is recessed into the box so that it is about 1in below the surface of the box. I was wondering whether or not if i could puta plexiglass cover over it or if it would over heat. I was also wondering about some opinions on dome nice mp3 decks for about 400 or less

If you enclose the amp, it needs to have adequate cooling. Some mount a pair of fans to cool the amp properly. Usually, one is pushing air into the amp, the other is pulling it out.
Heat build up is an enemy to electronic gear. The harder the amp works, the more heat it will generate. If the amp gets too hot, thermal protection circuits usually shut the amp off to cool. This is a good feature.... but best to avoid cycling on/off... this is very hard on the power output transistors and power supply.
