I have 2 solo baric kickers S12l7, Dual voice coils, a massive 25.4 amp, it has 4 channels. what would be the best way to wire these to sound the best and not put to big a load on the charging system? Parallel, series?Any suggestions would be great.brLet me know if you need more info to help answer this question.

What amp make and model# is this and what is the voice coil option on your Solos. I believe they come in 4+4 version. Yep, these are 4+4 DVCs These subs are rated for about 700 watts RMS each. To get the most out of them, a Class D MONO amp that can do a 1 ohm load, is your best option. Yes, they suck a lot of power and the subs demand lots of power to make them snort fire.

Also, this 4 channel amp mentioned... what is the fuse rating on same. Just add up all the fuses on amp. The only ways to run these subs on that amp are:

1. 1 voice coil (4 ohms) to each channel

2. Bridge the amp down to a 2 channel model and wire each sub for 8 ohms (series). You'll get 50% of the bridged power at 8 ohms as compared with a 4 ohm load.

Personally, I would save the 4 channel amp for interior speakers (or sell it) and get a real sub amp.

Well I had these in my oldsmobile and had them wired with one channel of the amp to one voice coil, so each sub had 2 channels. This sounded pretty good, but wasnt sure how effecient that wireing method was. So i have rewired them in series fromat and gave each sub only one channel, but have not yet hooked them up (still waiting on parts). The amp brand is Massive 25.4 the fuse rating is 40 Each fuse is 20. I beleive my Altornator is 130 amp from what i could find, is this gonna beat my charging system down?

dunno much about this brand but am sure that this amp IS NOT EVEN CLOSE to what 1 solo would demand for max potential much less 2.take swez's advice and use this amp for interiors.

swez ,here are the specs:

25w x 4 RMS Amplifier, bridgeable, 600w Max.
18db bass boost @ 45 Hz.
Continuously variable 18db X-over.
Balance line inputs.
Mil-spec double sided gold plated Circuit Board.
Pulse width modulated (PWM) switching combined with MOSFET transistors in the power supply.
2 ohm stable.
Dimensions 9.75" x 2.5" x 14.25".

Since you have a 130A., ALT, the JBL BP 1200.1 would be a very good fit.

It will do 1 ohm loads, is Class D (90% efficiency) while your calss A/B, 4 channel is only 50 -60% efficiency. Actually, a very modest 4 channel amp there. Best to use it to power your front stage speakers when bridged to a 2 channel amp.

The JBL will definitely get these subs thumping. A true 1200 watts RMS at 1 or 2 ohms loads... but draws close to 100A., when you crank it up.

Replacing your stock battery with a high CCA rated one (800 CCA or more) will help as will upgrading power wires between ALT/BAT, BAT/GNG and GND strap doubled to engine block.

If you go this route, need a #2 gage power wire kit and 100 A., fuse at battery. Doing this mod will give you bass you will not believe.
