Iam building a new system for an old car .I want to keep it simple and clean ,going for sound quality. The car is a 56 chevy belair pro street,2 seater,so know one will be in the back. The front is where iam puttting the speakers right now.Nothing is installed yet.I need some advice for a begginer. This is what i have already an alpine 7941 deck with no built in amp and a set of 6.5 alpine spx components. The speaker are 75rms.This is what i had planned to do and tell me what you think.I was going to put the 6.5 components in the front door panels, the woofer at the bottom front and the tweeter at the top.I also have 3" - 4" holes already in my lower kick panels so i want to put somthing in there also.I was thinking about another set of 4" components ?Brand type ?,i think i have room for a 1 inch tweeter in the kick also.Should i run 2 sets of components in the front .I want somthing in the kick panels.Iam going after the best sound quality up front that i can get. So i need advice on speakers and 4 channel amps.Give me some help,Thanks.Maybe down the road i will get some subs for the back

those are both nice amps but dollar for dollor in my opinion the avionixx amp is new with a warranty and is a good clean amp with nice options. its the biggest bang for the buck i can see. for speakers i'm sold on CDT components and coaxil speakers but especialy there components they are amazing. you can get a set of there 6.5 inch components for 150$ from www.thezeb.com or there 4", 5.25" or 6.5" coaxils for 44.95 per set from the same place. also some other great deals on CDTs other speakers there i have a set of HD series components from CDT and they sound amazing.

Would it make sence to install another set of components in my kick panels say a high quality set of 4".I have 6.5 components in my doors now thats all i have installed right now. That would give 2 sets of components in the front. How would that sound with a good 4 channel amp.

i honestl dont know i would assume ok.. i have never seen it done myself though so i couldnt tell you. if you cross all the speakers over right you could get a real nice sound out of it i would think... something like the 6.5 80-500hz, the 4 500-2000or 3000hz and then the tweeters everything about that. with thaqt set up i would think you could get a really nice sound... some of the gold well also probaly have done this before to and can tell you the best way to get the sound you want.

Ok i will wait and see if anyone else jumps in later to give there suggestions.Like i say i'am still open on ideas and do not know a whole lot about all this .I did here my alpine components before i bought them and they sounded great alone.I just need to know what else to add in my front kick panels to complete my system.I could put some kind of speakers in my rear side panels also if it would help complete the system.

if you liked the alpines you would love the cdt's i was going to get alpine type R components till i heard the cdt's theyn out perform my friends MB quart components that have a 60watts to them rms and i'm just running mine off my deck now... also focal makes some great components too about the same as cdt's in sound quyal;ity they are quite a bit more expensive might get a good deal on ebay though.

Any combination up front is acceptable.. I wouldn't go with 2 sets of components though (4 tweeters) That may be a tad too much in the highs. I would go with 1 set of components and one additional speaker (3rd way) for rear fill or midbass fill if using it up front. Alpine makes some really good components, the type S series has impressed me in several applications.
As far as speaker placement, I would hook up the amp and the speakers before putting them in the doors and kick panels. Leave enough speaker wire on them to be able to move them around. Try them in different areas of your car ( 2 components up front. or one up front and one in the back) find what sounds the best for you and do it that way. One or two screws to hold them in place will be fine to test them as they will sound alot different in free air compared to mounted. A word of caution.. if you decide you want two pair of components up front, don't wire them to 2 ohms, although most 4 channel amplifiers are rated to handle that. Unless you go with a high dollar amplifier, you will get alot of distortion (THD) at 2 ohms.
you have a good HU, this is where sound quality starts.. I would look at the Alpine MRV-F340 (55x4@4ohms) or the MRV F450 (50x4@4ohms) Both of these amplifiers are CEA-2006 compliant. That means they use the voluntary standard of power ratings set by the Consumer Electronics Association. These are true power ratings, not hyped up like most companies' ratings are. So far.. Fosgate, Alpine, and MTX are the only companies I know of that have the balls to use this standard. In other words this Alpine amp will probably produce more than a sony that is rated at 85x4@4ohms.

Keep it simple and pure in the front stage. A single pair of 2-way Components (CDT CL-61a @ Zeb $150.00/pr) will do nice in front stage if you use kick panels or door mounted.

As for the rear stage, these are often rear deck mounted and can be run off the rear channels of the HU. If you want more power than HU, the n a good 4 channel makes sense. The USB 4065 or 4085 will drive all speakers well with a true 65/85+ watts. (RMS, not peak watts)

You won't have huge bass in the car unless you add a sub and amp later. RF, MTX, Alpine are all fine amp products. But you will pay a premium for these brand names and not get any more real performance differences using the Avionixx or US Acoustics models mentioned earlier.

What's the full model number of that Alpine HU you have now?
