I just have a quick question aboot what would be the best 12" sub for aboot $200-250 dollars Canadian Eh. So that would aboot $150-200 in Amurican dollars. The amp I have is an older Alpine V12. 600w Max, aboot 275w RMS. I also have a sealed box approx 1cf. The type of sub I am looking for is a nice mix of SPL and SQ. I want to feel the bass but not sound like crap. I would like to be heard coming down the road and get our 2 Mounties after me. Also the amp is 2 channels and stable bridged at 4 ohms

Thanks in advance for the help.

All the drivers noted here are fine quality SQ/SPL drivers. Each will handle 300 RMS. The Shiva can take more and go low too. The budget priced sub is the Infinity Ref 1230W. No slouch here either. Just becaused it is low priced, not a lame sub at all.

Hey,

I went with the 12" Alpine Type S, last years model it was only $159 CDN. I wanted the new Type S model but the old one matched my amp better. Thanks for the help swez and uochronos.

Actually, I have got another question. How does my factory BOSE system compare to other aftermarket speakers? Would it be worth going with an anftermarket amp or just keep the factory set up? Or whatabout amp and new speakers, would it really make that much of a difference?

Ooops wait I meant to say what "aboot" new amp and speakers

Bose systems have unique design characteristics. They amp the speakers off the Factory HU and use special Bose speakers that are specifically selected to Bose system needs.

Generally, Bose systems are not very compatible with aftermarket HUs, amplifiers and speaker. To improve what you have, most yank the whole system and start fresh with new Aftermarket gear. Ttocs has a good deal of experience in this one and I would defer to his experience to guide you on your options.

However, if you keep the Bose system for now and just add the amp and subs, there are some LOC's (Line out Converters) that arfe compatible with Bose Stock systems.

Look here: www.davidnavone.com

This one will work well off your rear deck speaker line taps and had an output adjustment pot to control output to amplifiers RCA inputs.
