I am looking to buy an amp and a set of 12" subs but don't know much about this subject. I have an 03 GMC EC truck and am going to use the factory Delco HU. I know you guys probrably don't like that idea but I don't want to get away from the factory looks. I want more bass but don't really need to be heard a block away. I want good equipment but don't need the best by far. Any combo suggestions? Replies (2) compvr15s on 03/23/2004 20:57:06 id definitly think about the jbl 600.1 for the sub amp 1 and 2 ohm stable with 600 watts rms. i was lookin on ikesound.com and they dont have the infinity subs that we were recommending to everybody, i wonder if they are out of them. other subs to choose from kicker comp vrs alpine jl w3s or w0s ikesound has the infinity kappas, 120.3s they are 92 dollars. its ok to use the factory head unit, most people are the same and dont want to affect the factory look, can use LOCs for this application. others will answer with better response, im on my way out the door for work, good luck swez on 03/24/2004 03:22:29 Really depends on how much you wish to spend for a bass engine and how much space you have for the sub enclosure. No need for a monster bass system to improve the low end in your truck. Delco makes a decent HU, and if you can locate the rear speaker leads, can tap off these to amp/sub. Some use an amp with high signal (speaker output voltage) inputs to feed the amp. Then whatever power level you desire for bass and a well matched woofer (or 2) enclosure to improve your bump. Option 2 is to use a Line out converter to bring speaker level voltage down to RCA input voltage needs. These tend to run less extranious noise to the amp and a cleaner signal to subs. Not too expensive either and easy to install. Say more about what level of bass performance you desire and a rough budget number for same. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
