There is not a good answer for ya on that one Bill. Many companies will have varying wire colors in the same make and model. With only a few exceptions to particular parts of the car, ford wiring seems to vary the most... I would try to get the wires at the rear speakers first. This way will often lead to a signal that has been exposed to many different types of electrical noise, and will sound bad with the engine running. Try it first though, use the high pass inputs or a LOC(line out converter)... If that doesn't work we will try hitting the low level input to the factory amp, and using the rca inputs...

What does a rcu do?

That's the $64 question.
As best I can tell it at least contains the am/fm tuner and the rear amps.
It is located on the drivers side in the trunk. The front control unit (FCU) sends at least control signals to the RCU. Since the FCU also contains a tape deck there must also be an audio signal.

Without a better understanding of how this system works, the high pass inputs or LOC seems to be the best way to go

Question: Most LOCs offer isolation to protect the OEM system. Will the high pass inputs on the amp provide simular protections ?

Try sending an e-mail to tech service at:

www.davidnavone.com

See if they have any recommendations and products for this style setup. Navone has a number of high quailty, signal isolating LOC's. Am hoping they have one for your system. Give em a try..
