want to know where i can get some schematics for my car so as to design my sub boxes more efficiently. Replies (2) cplkittle on 03/23/2004 08:32:24 I am not sure about scematics.. I put in a couple of months research into several articles in the DIY section of this forum, and never was able to find much of anything reguarding cabin spaces. I did find some general recommendations, but no hard numbers or charts. The only thing I can tell you is that if you have a trunk, sealed is your best bet, unless you can port your speakers into the cabin of the vehicle with the front of the speakers facing the trunk. Some people seal the trunk, and use the trunk as a box. This is known as an infinite baffle. (Acoustically coupled infinite baffle if there are two or more subs in this setup). For Hatchbacks or small SUVs, I would go with ported unless you are dead set on Sound Quality over SPL. Vans and Large SUVs, any style can be used. Bandpass boxes do well in these vehicles. The large cabin space can cover up small miscalculations and give you a flatter response. ttocs on 03/23/2004 16:01:42 to get the schematice, get a tape measure, a piece of paper, and a pencil(or pen if you prefer). Open the trunk and..... Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
