Hello, I have an Ac Delco stereo on a 2001 grand prix that has shut down on me. I unplugged the fuse but did not disconnect the battery. Shows the time and station but has no sound. I'm not sure if it is locked or what the deal is. I have tried what some steps that I saw on e-bay from a guy who has unlock codes: 1. Press and hold radio presets 2 & 3 for 10 seconds until the first set of numbers are displayed for the code. 2. Write the numbers down. 3. Press the AM/FM button and write down the next set of numbers. I don't get anything. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks Replies (7) ttocs on 03/23/2004 16:08:31 there are more then one fuse with the radio. If it looks normal but has no sound, look for a fuse pertaining to a premium sound system. I would honestly start by checking all the fuses.. Some times the tap into a circuit and do not label it properly. goodwrench on 03/25/2004 02:50:43 If the radio displays LOC, you have to get the 4 or 6 digits code from the radio, THEN you have to call GM a 800 number to get a 4 digit code. You have to have a dealer code at the time of the phone call. THEN you put the 4 digit code in your radio by the hour and mins buttons to set the 4 digit code, THEN press am/fm butoon and turn it on. Let me know what the 4 or six digit code is and ILL call it in for you..................................................Steve swez on 03/30/2004 14:43:35 Hey Steve, I have a GM HU for a 92 Buick LeSabre. It has a single CD slot... but when I insert a CD, I get and ERR message and the CD ejects. Any thoughts? Swez ttocs on 03/30/2004 15:30:59 try a laser lens cleaner. Mine gets that way from time to time. swez on 03/30/2004 19:03:27 Did that a while back... but will have another go at it. I figured the laser is not reading the tracks properly or has been damaged in some way. Thanks ttocs! Swez ttocs on 03/30/2004 21:05:26 We have a tech at the shop that does repairs... I have never been at a shop with one, would not like to go without one now. I am sure the local shop has one as well, if not send it out.... swez on 03/31/2004 09:09:02 Is stock GM HU and plan to pull it and replace w/ Aftermarket (upper line Sony I got from Shark) soon. So... if it does not work after cleaning a few times... so be it. I did find a site in Central FL that repairs stk HU's. But their prices were too high for this type of repair. I can get a new HU that does more, for less than repairs on this Delco HU. Besides, I have that Sony now... so the point is moot. Swez Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
