Hey guys, I am new to this but my question is, can I use an amp and 2 subs with my factory radio? I have an 03 GMC truck and want to keep the factory radio. I have installed a couple stereos in the past but I'm not to knowledgable on this subject. Any help you can give is appreciated.

In most cases, YES... you can keep the Factory HU and just add subs. The most difficult one (per ttocs) is the Bose factory system. If you have that, there are ways around it.
In most cases, adding a line out converter off the rear speakers (or HU outs) will do the job. These converters, change speaker level outputs, (+15 volts) into usable RCA level voltages. (2-4 volts)
Do you have a GM/BOSE system in there now or just Delco stock system? Bose has factory amps attached to the speakers. Stock Delco systems do not. These Bose systems are a bit more involved.... but if subs only... there are options.

Thanks for the reply. I just have the factory GM/Delco HU. Could you explain to me exactly how or what I can do. Again I'm not at all up on this subject. I know what I want but don't know how to get it.
