ok i was planing on getting a avionix 800.4 AXT digital amp to power my components and rear fill speakers this amp puts out 125watts rms and costs 285 + S/H avionix just released the 440.4 AXA amp though and i can get one for 149.99 + shipping this amp puts out 85watts per channel and is not a digital amp. is the 440 worth getting for that price or am i going to miss out alot by getting it? Replies (5) swez on 03/18/2004 18:25:48 By going with the 440.4, you would lose a mere 2dB of SPL to mid/highs. No big deal... You might want to look at te power draw from both amps before you take the plunge, one way or the other. Especially if your entire system is a hefty load on the electricals. Got a link to these amps? I took apart an amp last week that had 4 25a fuses.. only 2 of the fuses were hooked up on the inside, the other two were in blanks. apparently this case was used for a larger model as well. Just a note of advice.. swez on 03/19/2004 09:44:35 Spare fuses for fast, easy replacement? I have a pair on my sub amp for that very purpose. Swez uochronos on 03/19/2004 19:51:49 well the amp is rated at 12.5volts and has 80amps of fuses so 85x4 is 340watts .. so it should only pull about 50amps by my calculations Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
