Hey everyone, im trying to instal a amp and two subs into a 02 stang for a buddy. the only problem is he really, really wants to keep his stock head unit. Is there anyway to hook up the amp and subs without buying an aftermarket deck.
The info i have about the car is as follows:
02 stang coupe
MACH sound system(not MACH 1000)
using amp and 2 12"s
any advise would be great, thanks guys!

Well sure you can... Just check if the back of the radio that he is
using has to low output holes (usually one is white and one is red).

Not exactly... stock HU will not have RCA outs for this application. However, this system may be amped internally.
There are Line converters made to deal with amped systems and you can view options at: www.davidnavone.com

I would not recommend it in that vehicle. Your aftermarket amp will just be starting to get warmed up long after you mids and highs have started clipping and generally sounding bad. You can try it and replace the deck later if you want, but this is one of the cars that does not play well with aftermarket equipment...
