Hello, i have installed a sony CDX-MP70 HU, Rockford 700S 2 channel amp 800w, (i think 1200 max), 1 fered digital cap, and a 15" kicker solobaric sub. Recently I had installed a 600 watt boss 2 channell amp to 4 new 6-1/2 Pioneer TS-G164OR door speakers for my mids and my highs! Unfortunately the pioneer speakers did not turn out to be what i want! I hear my tweeters loud and clear, and can tell a huge difference in the songs now (vocal), with the new pioneer speakers, but what can i change with my set up to get more thump out of my mids, or a more full sound? I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe, and plan on changing my Rockford amp for a Digital Amp soon, along with getting a bigger box for my kicker! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

The biggest weak spot in your system is the Boss amp and Pioneer speakers. The sub section is fine.(maybe a larger box as Solo's do require breathing room and best if ported) That sub can move a lot of air.

For $300.00, can get 2 pair of CDT CL-61a's from Zeb audio. These are component style 6.5" midbass and a superior tweeter and a crossover network. They take ~100 watts RMS per each. So, an amp that can produce that kind of clean power, will dramatically change your mids/highs performance.

If your HU does not have EQ (multiband or parametric) consider adding one, as this will greatly add to flexibility of your system. Installs between your HU and amps.

The Pioneers are too bright and shrill for most guys. That Boss amp is also holding you back. The RF amp is fine, but a Class D or T sub amp draws less current any much more efficient with watts in VS watts out. Next time out, go a few leaps upward on the 4 channel amp in power and quality. You'll not be dissapointed.
