just wanted to say thanks for tryin to help...i had a problem with my subs....they weren't pushing and i was sure i had everything hooked up correctly..so i went back the the wiring mess behind the HU....i had plugged the rca's into the pre out marked sub, and that is where they did NOT want to work...go figure...so i decided to plug it into the one marked rear and all of a sudden they work....car audio expert i am not....lol...but i thought i could at least read the labels....the head unit is an alpine cda-7893 60w x 4 and has all these neat gadgets....like subwoofer level controls which are not wanting to work being plugged into the rear pre out ....am i in over my head here....lol

I cannot give you exact details on that HU, but if you review the manual that came with this HU, you may discover a menu system for setting up your sub outs properly.

If you don't have that manual, go to the Alpine web site and look for .pdf files regarding the installation and operation of that HU. Worst case, write/call Tech Support for details on how to use the sub outs.

Also, wait for ttocs to check in and see what he might be able to tell you. He is pretty experienced in HU installs and may know how to enable this feature.
