I'm planning on up getting a 12" Kicker Comp VR and hooking it up to a 2 channel rockford fosgate amp. (600w Max, 275w rms) My question is what would be better for my amp a dual voice coil sub or a single. Would I still get the same output with a DVC on my amp as I would with a SVC? I wouldn't be able to bridge my amp with a DVC, I would have to wire each voice coil to each separate channel right? I dunno if the Comp VR's even come in a single voice coil. Any advice on this topic for me would be great! Thanks, Murph Replies (2) compvr15s on 03/10/2004 15:25:50 i dont think comp vrs come in single vcs. but yes you would get the same out put from a single vc compared to a dual vc. its just more user friendly, more wiring options. go with 2 dual 4 ohm subs and wire each sub in 2ohms to each channel. good luck swez on 03/10/2004 17:08:07 I think he said..." a 12" Comp VR" meaning only 1 Murph? Your best bet with a 2 channel amp is an SVC sub, 4 ohms and enough power handling to mange that amp power. A Infinity Kappa SVC or Perfect SVC would do fine. If on a tight budget, consider the Infinity Reference 1230... 300 RMS ~$60.00 each. If you really wanted a DVC, get a 2+2 version. That too, will work well here.
