My 1986 toyota camry came with JVC installed. It blew up. So I decided to upgrade to a Pioneer DEH-P5500MP. I matched all the harnass wires correctly and it dosent lightup at all. So I got another one, the new one didnt work either! I checked the voltage on the ACC wire and it was 12.3v. I am at a loss. The BATT wire on the other hand reads about 11.8v when the key is in off position, less thana volt when the key is on. Please HELP! Replies (2) swez on 03/9/2004 21:34:48 Get out your installation manual and follow the wiring guidelines as noted. Nice HU and good features too... but you need to get your wiring connections correct or run the risk of damage to HU. There are coversion harnesses from OEM to Aftermarket that makie wiring a snap. If you don't have one now, get one at WalMart, CC or BB. If you don't have the install manual, go to Pioneer web site an DL a copy for refererences. Swez PS What color wires do you have in this HU and where are they connected? ttocs on 03/10/2004 08:54:48 did you test the constant, and the switched? Did you have it mounted when you tried them? I pretty sure I rememer toyota used a chassis ground system at that time. Where did you have it grounded? If you didn't have it mounted or grounded to the chassis, it may not work... Did ya check fuses? Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
