amp choices

OK i have narrowed my amp down to a phoenix gold tantrum series 1200.1 amp. and i can get this amp for 330$ shipped... bassicaly i'm looking around to make sure i'm getting the best i can get for my money so if anyone else knows of a better for about the same or an equal one for less please let me know... always looking to save that extra penny:)

$330 looks like a great price! I checked some other amps that size and couldn't find one cheaper.

why not the JBL you often recommend? Just did my second install using one of those. Very nice amplifier! Of course, I have never used a phoenix gold, so I can't personally compare them.

the phoenix gold is a class D actualy.... and the JBL i have never actualy used one and it does not have alot of the features the phoenix gold one has... one of the biggest sellers aside from quality and price that the PG amp has is its 1200watts at 2 or 4 ohm makeing it very versitile that along with a 18db slope and a SS filter make it very nice for the price. i currently have a 500watt tantrum series and have been very pleased with it. but if i could find a equal amp for less i would at least give it a look

I see your point... especially if you go ported in subs. The PG is a great amp, as is the JBL Power series... but PG has better feature for that price range and the same wattage at 2 or 4 ohms is a real plus too.

I think that you are moving in the right direction.
