Hey, Currently I am running a 12" Alpine Type S in a sealed box that is approx 1 cubic foot. My question is, will polyfill improve the bass reponse of my sub (eg. a little more lower sounding bass). Any advice on using polyfill is greatly appreciated. Thanks Jay Replies (5) swez on 03/5/2004 13:42:54 It can help in 2 ways: 1. It absorbs some of the rear energy off the back of the cone so less reflections and cancellation are present 2. It will also make the sub appear to be in a slightly larger box, which nets lower deep bass Also, which way is your sub facing in this install? Most get the best results by facing the rear bumper when possible like hatchbacks, sedans etc. In a truck, few options are possible, depending on space and box design. Finally, this is a low powered sub. An amp that produces 200-250 watts RMS @ 4 ohms, is all this sub can handle. To get the most clean SPL, mounting location and box size are the main factors left to explore. Say more about you bass system and the rest as we may have some tweaks you can try. Are you using any bass boost on that amp? A +3dB boost may help. Read this and see if it helps: http://www.clubknowledge.com/Car_Audio_FAQ/?t3 Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
