Punch 801s and Audiobahn 12" naturals

Basically, i bought a RF Punch 801s 2 channel amplifier that puts out (200w RMS @ 4ohms) (400w RMS @ 2ohms) & (800w RMS Bridged @ 4ohms) i bought a band bass enclosure with 2 12" audiobahn Natural Sound subs. AW12t25 or sumthin, and basically i can barely hear them. They have dual voice coils and can run at 2ohm 4ohm or 8ohm impedance. My amp is wired at (400w RMS @ 2ohms) but knowing i can barely hear my subs, im assuming the subs are wired at 4ohm impedance, i may be wrong. and my installer said he's gonna check it out, but if I'm right, what is the best solution. Re-Wire the subs to run at 2 ohms, or bridge the amp and run it to both subs? Help me out, my subs sound like **** and they should be pounding my neighborhood. FROWN

Yeah, they should...

Best to wire each sub in series for an 8 ohm load, then parallel to each other, out to amp. Bridge the amp as you now have a 4 ohm net load.

It sounds like your subs may be out of phase and wrong ohm load to amp... thus poor output.

I have 2 AW1251t 'natural sound subs' the exact model in a custom bandpass enclosure running off of a 600w kenwood (prob 150RMS each) and they do pound.
I agree with Swez, most likely they are out of phase. Especially in a dual bandpass enclosure, if they are out of phase, you will get practically NO sound.
Another small problem with Audiobahn, is sometimes they put the little red dot (indicating +) on the wrong side of the terminal of the speaker. Check carefully, the terminals should be stamped in the plastic casing + and -.
I would definitely double check all wiring before I tried to play them again as you can easily damage the amp or the subs this way.
