ok just looking for an opinion on this there is a EQX equalizer/crossover on ebay for 149$ with shipping it looks to have all the features i need and has never been used.. the hitch is the guy says he bought it in 1990 and just never used it... he has excelent feed back and says item is in working order. and it looks perfect. but is it worth saving the 100$ from getting a new from store eqx? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3082010321&category=14931 Replies (6) alanjlamore on 03/1/2004 19:48:28 Hey, check out the negatives and neutrals: -very fast shipping but seller neglected to mention that it had been damaged -Fast delivery, however, arrived damaged due to poor packing. Poor communication. -discrip not matching product, scaner was for mac, only 4 windowsifcard included -Parts missing that were in photo, poor communications -Speakers were not THX as advertised. They play fine however -This DAT machine arrived broken. It will not play DATs -Unit did not work. Sent back. Never picked up at USPS. No $$. No email response -Did not send items as advertised, will not fix -item not match the description, only a empty case. no reply for inquiry. -battery will not charge or hold a charge, faceplate cracked and broken off I stopped there, there's more...the fact that the seller didn't even care enough to respond to negatives since April 2003 says a lot too. I know he had a lot of positives, but that's not hard to do, on ebay if you just give people what they want, they usually leave a message that lookes like you just saved their kids from a burning building. I wouldn't trust this guy, but that's just my oppinion. Good luck with whatever you decide :) Alan uochronos on 03/1/2004 19:56:49 hmm ya after i posted this i was browsing threw those and to say the least was getting more and more un trusting of it. i think i well just chip in the extra money.... for a brand new one. swez on 03/1/2004 20:09:01 Yeah... don't take a chance on a bad deal and no recourse... you're out of luck if this is a lame duck. Keep hunting for deals, but look to other sources...maybe AC refurb from the factory to cut price but not quality? Scratch & Dent may be an option too. Swez uochronos on 03/1/2004 22:38:35 how do you go about finding factory refurbs? email AC? and what does anyone think about audiotek EQ's? are these equal to AC equalizers? swez on 03/2/2004 06:07:49 Yeah, just call or email them to see what they do on returned goods. Maybe they have a demo, scratch & dent or outlet for remanufactured products. Swez ps Not familiar with A-T DSP's. Their amps are top notch though. uochronos on 03/3/2004 01:17:38 saw a A-T EQ/Crossover vary comparable looking to the AC EQX but the place was using it to run there demo products and they dont sell them but it seems to work well for there demo set up... maybe i well look into there specs. thanks Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
