i put Cerwin vega HED-8 DVC woolfers in my Yamaha home speaker cabnets and they sound good but my Son said i should run them in series cause on each speaker there is teo sets of positive and two negative. He said that my wire that comes from my Receiver ..the positive should go to the one positve and the negative should run to the frist negative and then keep going to next the positive and then stop at the next negative. is this correct??

Most home systems need an 8 ohm load. Some will accept a 4 ohm woofer, but you need to review the manual for this Yamaha unit to know for sure.

It also depends on how many woofers are used in each cabinate. Say more on that aspect and we can advise you what is the best wiring strategy.

Your son is probably on the right track... just need more details to confirm his recommendation.
