I just got my AXT 800.4 amp and the booklette that comes with it explains how to hook up the speakers for bridging, no problems yet... The book also says that "the amplifier crossover selection must be in the full position." I don't understand exactly why this is. My HU has a LPF crossover, so I could use that instead. Next question: Since it's a 4 channel amp, it has 4 inputs for RCAs. Do I split the 2 comming from the HU and plug it into all 4, or do I use just 2? If it's just 2, which ones? Thanks, Alan Replies (3) swez on 02/27/2004 18:58:11 I believe you use all 4 inputs and just bridge the outputs... Channels 1&2 bridged, (1 channel) channels 3&4 bridged (channel 2) and use 4 ohms per new channel. The crossover is a mystery to me on that amp. Ususally a HP/LP switch on each half of the amp... front & rear. Can use HU x-over if unsure. Or, dink around at low power if you wish. Probably means full range here? Is this amp for subs or mid/highs? Swez alanjlamore on 02/27/2004 19:03:44 It's a full range amp with HP and LP filters. I can't imagine why so I'll just play around with it like you said. Thanks for the great responses as usual Swez!! swez on 02/27/2004 20:44:13 You are most welcome! Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
