OK, I just looked up some retail prices on the stuff I recently bought and compared that to what I actually paid:
2 Infinity kappa perfect 10" subs: Actual-$95 ea Retail-$270 ea
1.1 Farad digital MK capacitor: Actual-$47 Retail-$99
Custom 1.2 cu ft enclosure for Dakota: Actual-$150 Retail-$240+
Avionixx AXT 800.4 Actual-$303 Retail-$799
2 CDT CL 61 components: Actual-$150 Retail-$300
That's a total of $1978 Retail and $840 Actual!!
This is not including the money saved by installing it all myself and the cost of my HU, wiring, or the amp I already had that's powering the components.
I know that no one's realy going to pay the retail price for all of those (I hope), but it's fun to look up the stuff and say "I have a system that's worth over $2000 that cost me less than $1000!".

ya i know the feeling other then my current amp i havent paid retail for anything it pisses all my friends off who shop at cartoys and what not i have a better system then all of them and paid about 1/3 of the price. yet most of them still refuse to let me help them. but its there loss.

Not so much lucky... just fortunate to have so many choices and open markets to low cost goods. We don't have to be rich to find an buy good stuff... just good shoppers.

Great, quality advice without all of the confusing/contradicting bad advice that's mixed into most other sites.
Even if bad advice is given here, a pro is usually quick to make the correction.

yes i agree we are all fortunate to have found this site.... and even when bad advise is given it give use that much more of a chance to learn when it is corected.

up is exactly 30,758.917 feet any higher then that and it becomes down. except but not limited to alabama where it become left.
