no power to my subs?!!!

help please!!! I just transferred two twelves and the attached amp to my new car but i am getting so little sound out of them it's as if they're powered by the head unit...also when i start or shut off the car the subs make a loud thump...might the amp be blown or a ground problem?....the amp is lit , it is a power acoustik 1200..and the subs r eclipse...double checked the wiring and the head unit programming all seems correct...please help

double check your grounds, and check your gain settings on your amp.

Yep, make sure you have power to this amp, a remote feed to turn it on and audio signals for R&L channels to feed the amp. A proper ground (to bare metal) is needed.

Oncec you know you have power, be sure you have wired the subs properly for that amp. If the ohms load is too low via wiring configuration, your trouble lamps will come on.

Also, need to insure you have audio input to the amp. A Walkman with adapter plug (headphone mini jack to RCA's) connect this to your amp inputs and bring the amp gains up to mid-point. If you still have nothing, either an amp problem or power/ground feeds to amp are faulty. Check all fuses!
