Hey guys. Could anyone give me a recommendation of an amp in range of 1000w-1500w RMS (legit power rating) and stable down to 2ohm (or even 1ohm). Price is not really an issue, but of course we are all cheap by nature =). Thanks -Lee Replies (4) uochronos on 02/25/2004 02:20:47 www.avionixusa.com has some good amps cheap also phoenix gold, jl audio, and jbl also all have good amps between 1000 and 1500watts rms at 2ohm. phoenix gold has a 1200watt tantrum and 1400watt titanium series amps both 2 ohm stable very nice amps. jl has a few amps in that range very nice also and jbl has a good 1200watt amp. avionixx has a 1200watt digital and ithey have a 1100watt 1ohm stable amp on sale for 220$ i belive it is killer deal. swez on 02/25/2004 03:06:57 The JBL BP1200.1 is a rock solid, no frills, no nonses amp. Under rated a bit so +1200 RMS @ 1 or 2 ohms will do the job. If you have a ported enclosure, may want to get a set of "FMODS" subsonic filters to block subsonic noise that robs amps of power you cannot hear and will protect your subs from going below port tuning freq. Under $300 at ebay and Ikesound. There's always Audiobahn too. Good SPL amp, nice features and slick looks at reasonable prices too. There are some good prices on HC versions... High Current that can do 1 ohm or lower.
