FROWN Ok, I have everything installed and have tried to figure out how to get around this but I basically know just enough to get myself into trouble. I have a blaupunkt head unit that has an amp delay and have changed it from not on to a 4 second delay. I turn the radio on and no music comes out for a couple of seconds, then the amplifier turns on and a loud pop is heard before music starts. I have the amp in-line with a capacitor. I am sure I have everything hooked up correctly. Could this be due to the capacitor having to charge before it is able to power the amp? Replies (1) swez on 02/25/2004 03:44:07 Could well be. What amp are you using now? Some older amps do not have quiet on circuits and the pop can be minor or annoying, depending on the amp or its gain settings. That cap may also contribute to this problem. Have you tried unistalling the cap, then see what you get? First, discharge the cap with the amp fuses removed. A small automotive light bulb should do the trick here, to bleed off stored energy. Just be careful not to short the cap or you could blow it up.
