AMP not working

Hey all, brI am having problems with my amp, The power cable is attached, the ground wire it attached to bare metal on the cars body. The RCA leasds are attached and I have wired it up to my stereo (with the remote wire) .I turn the stereo on, the amp lights come on everything is fine...... As soon as I engage the CD disc changer (or tape player) , the Amp turns itself off. Can anyone give any advice please, cause I am stuck FROWNbrThanksbrDanno

Does the amp work on your FM circuit? If yes, but not the Tape/CD, check the voltage at your REM lead on amp. There needs to be 12 volts there. If not, the amp will shut off.

Many HU's have 2 blue REM leads. The solid blue is true REM. The blue w/ white stripe is power antenna feed. When using FM, the b/w stripe wire has power. When switched to tape/CD, the antenna lead shuts off... thus, no power to amp.

Have a closer look at your REM wire choice. It should be solid blue.

that would be the problem... You can test this by simply connecting a piece of wire from the +12v constant on the amp to the rem connection, while on cd. The amp should pwr up and play. If it does do this then switch the wires swez said...
