I orderd some of those Hyper White Fog Lights from ebay because one of my stock ones got busted out.. my question is, can i hook them up to my factory fog light switch?? and use that same wiring harness? theres 2 wires comming from the fog lights im installing and 2 wires going to the clip for the stock ones....what would happen if i cut that clip off and spliced the wires together?? or is there any other way?? i apprieciate any comments and thoughts. thank you

Should be OK to do as noted, unless your new fogs are of much higher wattage ratings than stock and draw a lot more current.

Stock fogs are about 55 watts each. HO lights can go as high as 85 watts each. These will draw more current and require a HD fuse, wires and perhaps a larger relay. The switch should be OK if a relay is used. Otherwise, a HD switch may be needed too.

One way to find out... try it. If a fuse blows, you'll have some work to do.

ok, i checked. these lights are only 55 watts....but i dont know if they can be spliced???? the wire has a nylon-like coating and the wires bend and stay in the bent position...its kinda hard to explain...and the end of the wire is just like a male connecter.

OK, use the male connector as noted on your new fogs and get a matching female set for the OEM wiring pigtails. Use the booted kind that seal out moisture and road grime too. Brass connectors are better than steel as they don't rust. A dab of silicone lube will keep them clean and oxide free for years.

Can get the right connectors at any good auto parts store and then crimp them onto the original harness wires. All you need is a "Handy Dutchman" (4 in 1) crimper, stripper, wire cutter and screw chaser. Just be sure you use the proper gage connector for your wiring. The blue connectors are good for most medium gage wire crimps. (14-16 gage wires)
