help with building a sub box/enclosure.

I will have 2 10" Infinity kappa perfect subs (350Wrms each).

Right now I have a MTX thunderform box in my truck (2000 dodge dakota). The box is by far too small for the speakers due to the shape and I can't use spacers cause the seat will be on the subs when it's down and I'd need a whole lot of spacers.

I want to build a box, but don't want to screw it up. The biggest problem is measuring for the box since the bottom of my truck is not flat (at all).

Maybe I'll try to fill the space where there box would go to make it flat?

Here's a link with pictures of it in the truck (not mine)

Here's one with just the picture of the box that I have:

The subs call for 1.2 cubic feet
I found a picture online of a custom box, but I can't find it now.

Any suggestions?

OK, would anyone know approximately how much a custom box would cost to have a dealer do it?

The only tools I have are screwdrivers, hammer wrenches and a drill :(

I figgured that instead of buying all the tools needed to build a box, it might be better to have it done by someone else.

I leve near Virginia Beach and have heard of some reputable shops around here.

I wouldn't know how to tell the volume of the box unless I filled it with water and then measured the water.

Oh yea, if I do go to the dealer, what should I tell them?
I don't know if they'll try to talk me into a certain kind of enclosure just so they get more money.

I think the subs call for a sealed box, but I'm not possitive on this.

Any suggestions?...

Something like the MTX thunderform box done by a custom shop will probably run you between $250 and $400 for a simple fiberglass design.
Tell the dealer you are looking for an enclosure to put in your truck that will accomodate the sub that you have. Tell him that you thought about getting a custom fiberglass enclosure, but they are out of your price range. This may get him to bite, and give you a sales pitch on how cheap he can have one made for you. It depends on how backed up his installs are. If they are dry and are looking for something to do, you should get a good deal.
