I just purchased a new truck, not much different from my old one but this one is 4x4 finally. Its a 97' silverado z71 ext. cab. I'm having trouble i need a box to go under my rear seat since i do not want to get rid of the rear seat.(have to have it for those 4 person dirtbike riding trips) neways i want to put 2 adire audio brahma's 10's under the seat. Since i suck at box building i'd like to just purchase one the only problem is the deepest i can find is 6" and the brahma is 6.5" so i probably need about a 7" deep box but i can't find one. Anybody have any links to a box that would work??? or maybe have some building plans for one???? either would help Replies (4) uochronos on 02/6/2004 23:10:28 do you have seven inches? i dont mean to imply you havnt checked just making sure. i know 99 and earlier fords only have 6 and my dads 96 full cab chevy only has 6.5 i think we measured it at. and if you are going to mount 6.5" deep speakers in a 7" deep box that means that the speakers well be touching the back wall of the box almost. i dont know about the adire brahmas but that doesnt seem like alot of room for the sub too cool its self with. i coudlnt find anything deeper then 6" prefabricated box wise myself either... erikcooper on 02/8/2004 18:15:54 Sometimes you just have to go with custom made boxes and it seems like this is one case. Keep in mind that you can cut away some of the carpet to make the center of the box higher to allow cooling room. BIGJ11BB on 02/8/2004 21:21:56 I have been thinking about fiberglassing. But i don't know where to start. I'm thinking the interior is coming out soon because my new alarm and dynamat r coming so it might be a good time to make a mess. How would i go about fiberglassing. Should i leave the back seat in when i take out the fronts and carpet then just cover the back seat in plastic and fiberglass around it. Not sure what i'm doin here. erikcooper on 02/9/2004 00:30:26 I don't think fiberglass would be the answer under the seat here. It is mainly used in areas where you can not have squared off edges, or where it needs to look good. Neither of these is the case here. It would be under the seat so any good looks would be wasted. I would just take some careful measurements under the back seat and bring them back to us and let us set you up with a good box design. We should be able to help you out.
