can i run just 2 channels on a 4 channel amp?

ok i think i have seen this asked and awnsered before but i dont remember and couldnt find it. can i run just the front 2 channels of a 4 channel amp? i'm getting the amp this month but wont be able to get the other 2 speakers iwant till later on around july. so i only want to usen the front 2 channels of this 4 channel amp but dont want to rick hurting the amp either. its the avionixx 800.4 class T... www.avionixxusa.com

I would either bridge the 4 channels down to a 2 channel version and set your amp gain between 4-6 volts or contact the MFG and see what they recommend on this one.

Most amps will be OK w/o a load (speaker) connected as they have internal load resistors to manage the power if there is no external load or the speaker blows a coil.

I did check the .pdf file on the ATX 800.4 but there was no specific data on open channel performance.
