heh, need a little bit more help guys THINK i have this cap, and it has remote distribution. its got 4 spots for wires to fit in....now, how do i hook it up? theyre not labeled or anything. do i plug one from my HU into a spot and then it feeds the other 3? Ive also emailed audiobahn about this, but the ppl here give more helpful advice at a faster rate than any product support. thanks again guys. -Sylver Replies (7) Munchiesyumm on 02/2/2004 20:04:57 Do you have a model number for this item? Also why are you using a cap? If your electrical system is straining now and you add a cap it only puts more stress on it. Caps give out a burst for 4-5 seconds than they have to be charged up again. Have you first invested in buying a new battery? erikcooper on 02/3/2004 09:42:56 While a cap can be a good thing at some points it isn't the best to keep your electrical system up to par. Basically what I am saying is the best thing I can think of using one for is that it keeps your voltage at a constant rate, keeps it from getting less voltage or more voltage at any given times. Sylver on 02/3/2004 13:29:20 The model number is acap601q. I know caps arent used to compensate for lack of power elsewhere, i have an upgraded alternator, a optima yellowtop batt, thinking of getting a second batt. im not trying to use the cap to cover lack of power. all i need to know is how the remote wire thing works on it. Ive had my system planned out, looked over by people id say are audio experts and they agree with all the eq im setting up, and that it works fine together. but, i cant figure out exactly how the remote block on the cap works again, its ACAP601Q www.audiobahninc.com -> goto products, capacitors thanks for the replies. -Sylver erikcooper on 02/3/2004 14:29:51 Looking at it on the audiobahn website, if it looks like the 501q and the 301q on the input/output end, it seems as if you can put power into either or both of the 1/0 gauge input lines, send power out the 8 4 gauge outputs and then hook a remote line to the center input that has places to output that remote to amps. Munchiesyumm on 02/3/2004 19:21:32 I found some manuals http://www.audiobahninc.com/frameset.html 1. click on Tech Support (at bottom) 2. scroll down to manuel downloads 2003 3. Capacitors 4.download manuels and look at the wiring digrams. When I looked I didn't see the exsact model but ones simular to it this may be of help to you. Sylver on 02/3/2004 21:04:36 thanks again for the help guys! -Sylver erikcooper on 02/4/2004 12:25:44 No problem, does the description I gave sound right?
