depends on what you are going to use them for, be more specific, what type of music do ya listen to and what type of bass do ya want, jaw dropping or just an amount to go with the rest of your speakers. i know RF really pound and Infinity and Alpine sound better, dont know about pioneer or audiobahn, id say them two are probably the least best out of the selection, may i recommend kicker, if you are looking for good price go with the comp vrs, very reliable and great sound too. just tell what you want to do with your subs and the experst here will help ya, just figured my 2 cents might help

yea it really depends on what your goals are, SPL, for all intents and purposes is loudness, or SQ, sound quality.

also, do you already have an amp? if so what kind, as it would help to know in order to match up subs with it

Lots of good choices already mentioned and it really depends on...

1. What kind of amp used? (Brand and model)
2. How much power are you going to throw at them?
3. How much space do you have for the enclosure?
4. Are you looking for very high SPL subs, High SQ or a bit of both
5. Are we talking 1, 2 or 3 subs here?

Answer these questions and we can help a lot more!

I am using a Rockford 250 Punch amp. The amp is 250 watts but if i remember right rockford rates theirs amp lower then what they are... i want two subs possibly three.I want whatever will pound the hardest out fo the brands i named but not empty my pockets.

Well, with a 250.2 Punch, there's a modest amount of power here to run a sub system. The specs I have on that amp indicate 250 watts RMS when bridged MONO @ 4 ohm or 125 watt/ch @ 2 ohm in stereo.

A good single 12" sub (4 ohm SVC) will handle that much power without eating into your cargo space. If you want 2 subs, a pair of 2/4/8 DVC's will be OK too... just cost more and take up more space w/o any real addional SPL benefits. For that amp a pair of dual 10's would be fine

A single Adire Audio Shiva 12" sub is a very good balance of SQ & SPL. This sub can take 600 watts + RMS @ 4 ohms, so you can always upgrade the amp if you desire more bass. Great sub for under $150.00. Figure a 1.0-1.25 cf box (sealed) is right there. A nice combo and much less $$$ than some other brands mentioned. This is a 4/8/16 DVC sub. You'll want to bridge the Punch and parallel wire the Shiva. Here's a link to read more:

If you really want dual drivers, a pair of DVC 2/4/8 ohm subs are the ticket. I like the Infinity Kappa series for good SPL and and above average SQ. A bit more expensive than a Shiva... but if you want dual 10's/12's these are very good. Look here:

http://www.justwoofers.com/ Infinity, Kappa DVC is the one to click on.

Kicker Comp VR's are good as well. More for SPL and good SQ... also come in DVC's (2/4/8) 10's & 12's. These are fine and pretty cheap w/o a box. E-bay is the best place to shop them.

Alpine SWR series is also a good choice. They have DVC and SVC models as well.

Have a look as you wish... but if it were my install... I'd go a single Shiva!

Alpine, infinity, JL and Rockford would be your best choices here. YOu are looking for SPL so i'd go with 2 12s. Personally i think infinitys are too sensitive, so JLw0 or w3 if you can find them for the right price, or ALpine type-r or type-s. what kind of vehicle u putitng this in?

Got there ahead of you again Blitz... LOL

Check out the Shiva... a very nice product at $125.00 each and they are gut busters for that price range.
