My sound just isn't right???

I drive a 1998 Dodge Dakota sport ext. cab. I have an MTX Thunders series custom box that fits under the rear seats, the only problem is that my depth is only 5". I just got my truck back from being repaired after it was stolen and stripped of it's powerful sound. I just had new equipment installed and it just doesn't sound the same? Currently i'm running a Rockford Fosgate 4 channel 501bd mono block to 2 10" Rockford subs and 2 61/2" Dragster mids. I'm finding that the base is way to much and makes it sound like crap. Is it just me or are mono blocks only made to run off of subs? Can you suggest equipment that would blow my mind?

well the fact if if you infact have the amp you listed its a 500watt amp to 1 channel at 2 ohms... so i dont see hwo this is running four speakers... and it just wouldnt work to run 2 subs and 2 mids since the signals to these differnt types of speakers wouldnt be achieved..
So either you have the wrong model number or you are simply running an amp to just the subs.. which to me is what it sounds like thats why your getting all bass and no mids because the mids are probaly being driven off the deck so they arent getting as much power as you are expecting.
the 501bd is definatly not a 4 channel amp though... not a bad little amp though for a pair of subs...
