Need help with head unit install complication!!

I am driving a 1995 Acura integra SE (special edition sedan) I just bought infinity kappa 6X9's for the rear dash, an infinity basslink sub with built in 200 watt amp for the trunk and a pioneer CEH 6400 reciever for the dash.

I was able to get the stock head unit out just fine and was ready to install the pioneer which shouldn't be to tough when I discovered that some factory stock alarm component is buit into the stock reciever. When I disconnect the stock reciever and hook the battery back up the alarm goes off and I can't turn it off until I reconect the stock reciever.

It seems my options are disable the alarm completely, forget about it and move forward with the new reciever install. I have no idea how to do this and it would probably be better to have both. So in order to have both the alarm working and the new head unit I obviously need to have both installed. This is where the help comes in : )

I think I have all the wiring equipment I need. I plan on installing the stock reciever under the passenger seat and the pioneer in the dash. I just need wiring help. I am thinking I need to splice the power so it can go to both units from the yellow wire going into the harness coming from the car. Run my spliced yellow wire to the stock unit under the seat and solder it to the correct pin on the back. Then find the alarm related wires (it think there are 2 of them) clip them from behind the harness coming from the car, attatch extension wires to them and run them to the stock unit under the seat as well and solder them to the correct pins. Once I have done that I should be able to plug the pioneer recievers wiring harness which I have prepared to the wiring harness coming out of the dash and they should both function and my problems are over.

Am I on the right track? or am I living in a dream world and about to nuke my electrical system?

Also, do all have any suggestions on good wiring? I was planning on soldering my splices if possible, my backup plan is using but connectors.

I can't wait to get this system up and running! I seriously lay awake at night trying to figure out the best way to get this done. Any help would be awesome! Thanks! --Christian

I'm not too up to speed on alarm systems, but I assume that the stereo is only part of the alarm. There should be a way to bridge the alarm wires without using the HU.
An alarm system is basically a complete circuit looking for a break in the circuit to trigger it. The bridging of the alarm may be difficult depending on the quality of the alarm. It may require some resistance between the sensor wires, and then again, you may be able to just twist them together. If you can isolate them from the wiring harness, check the resistance of the circuit with an ohm meter. If it is near zero, simply connecting them together may work.
Please don't try this until you get more advice here. As I mentioned, I am not that familiar with alarms. You may also want to contact the dealer for recommendations on installing an aftermarket HU. They may have a part made just for that reason.

More than likely they did that specifically to keep people from installing aftermarket HUs...

Thanks cplkittle, that makes sense. I isolated the alarm input and output wire from the cars wire harness going into the radio. I almost tried bridging it last night but didnt feel like getting into it. Saturday I am going to try to figure it out. I called the acura dealership and they were extremely unhelpful. All they would tell me was that there was a switch under the drivers seat that would disable it. Of course there isn't and I don't think that would solve my prob anyways. I really want to bridge it like you said or completely disable it somehow and never wory about it again.

Thanks again for your reply and any other advice would be much appreciated! Thanks
