Ok i currently have a set of CDT hd-62cf that i want to power with an avionixx 800.4 amp (www.avionixusa.com) these speakers are of course 4 ohms i'm also getting a set of elemental designs 8a's to put out mid bass 60hz-150hx or so. these are dual 4 ohms which i well be running them into a 2 ohms load. now my question is can i run the front speakers at 4 ohms and the rear speakers at 2 ohms on this 4 channel amp? or do all the ohms have to match up? because if this well work it well turn out pretty sweet. Replies (4) cplkittle on 01/29/2004 19:19:44 I am thinking that since a 4channel amplifier is in the stereo sound department, that each channel will be amplified independently. I have run subs bridged off of the rear channels of a 4channel amplifier before with no problems, so I don't see a problem here. There is a slim chance I could be wrong, but I doubt it. If the Type T's are similar in wiring configuration to the AB I've got here, your wiring scenario should work pretty well. If you are cautious (It is your money), ask for Ben at Elemental Designs. The fella knows his product. erikcooper on 01/30/2004 00:20:16 What made you choose the A/B over the T Bone? I figure T is a much better bet since it has so much better efficiency.
