help me identify MA sub

I am building a custom box for a friend, and he wants to use his two MA audio subs, but I can't find any specs or pictures to identify them, and I need the T/S parameters.
They are 10" MA subs, black and silver dust cover on a spun aluminum cone, chrome basket with a single magnet, and guessing 2" VCs. dual 4ohm, 600w subs. I am sure they are discontinued, he has had them for over 3 years now.
There is no model number stamped on the chrome basket. only MA audio and 600W.

I was hoping someone here might know the model number of the speaker described. I emailed MA twice, but no response.

Try contacting MA Audio at maaudio.com. Maybe they could help, you might be able to send them a picture or something.

As mentioned, I did email their tech support twice, and got no response. Not even a courtesy email saying that they would answer my question asap, like most companies do.

You many have some help available off WinISD. Many subs T/S parameters are in the data bank already and the MA's may be one of them in there.

Good luck,

They may be in WinISD yes, but if he doesn't know the model number, ISD won't help him =). I would suggest looking through e-bay and just looking at pictures, hopefully coming across the same one. Either that, or the internet resellers of MA Equipment... sometimes they either still sell it, or they haven't updated their site, and still have all the old stuff on it. That's how I got the stats on my old school JVC HU. Good Luck :)brbr

True and a good point... look for a pic and details that match the subs you have and you may be able to figure out what model you have here.

Look here:

OR: http://www.totallytwistedcreations.com/html/ma_audio_subs.html

OR: http://stp.safeshopper.com/78/53.htm?786

Maybe one of these sites will have the sub you are looking at.

I do appreciate all of the help. I never did find the model number.
All of the sites listed above are the new competition style with the extended basket/frame and the ribbed surround and cone. The ones he has are old school (basket with attached magnet)
smooth cone and surround.

I built the box for him last weekend based on audiobahn aw1051t specs compared to a concept 10" sub (not alot of difference in the box size or tuning) I did a 4th order bandpass for each speaker seperated by the amp rack to fit in the back of the van. I had a wild hair and used 1" lag screws to hold the plexi windows on. It set off the chrome DHD amp. Blue crushed velvet to match the diamond tuft headliner with blue lights above each aluminum cone speaker. It looks sweet! The only thing he don't like about it is that it dosen't hit as low as the huge leaky prefab box he had. So I am looking into CAREFULLY converting it into a 6th order bandpass to allow less pressure on the front of the speaker, allowing it to move more. This will be my first 6th order, I will let you know how it turn out.
