not sure what the comparison in Brunei dollars are... What is the difference in price between the Alpine and the Cadence? I am sure the Alpines are a good set of components, not the best of course but good, but I am not sure however if they are better than Cadence. Do you have anywhere to purchase CDT components over there?

Over here Focal and MB Quart are the most talked about components but many on this forum that have CDT and have friends with Focal or MB Quart have had their friends whining about their cheaper CDT comp. being better than their more expensive Focals.

Too bad theres no CDT retailer here . I think i'm going to replace my sony with Cadence comp. , the Alpine comp. is only going to be available nextweek here . cant wait to change my lousy sony's ^_^

I would hope that a GOLD would reply here. Looking at Cadence's website, Alpine looks better. I could be wrong, I could be passing judgement, that is just what I am thinking. Let a Gold tell you before you buy the Cadence, else you may be upset...

Is buying online and having it shipped an option? if so you can get most of what lsited cheaper. and i would assume for a little extra money you could get CDT's shiped too you... i have never heard the cadence components but i have heard type R alpine components before and they sound very nice for the price. also again if buying online is an option for you ebay has both the 5.25 and 6.5 alpine type r compoents for 120$ plus shiping.

unfortunately , no GOLD yet..
Buying online and shipped from the United States to Brunei will take a very long time and its expensive too,but it would be so nice if there is no shipping charges.The distance between the U.S and Brunei is like leaping through some continents ^_^

If you can go to a place that sells these, have a listen with a few of your favorite CD cuts. The speakers will sound different in your car, but at least you'll have a general point of reference... "what sounds best to your ears".
All the noted speakers are top quality and pretty expensive, but they are much better than the Sony speakers you have now. Let your ears and funds available, be the judge. We all have certain preferences that are mostly subjective. All the specs in the world cannot make up for what we actually hear and sounds pleasing or lousy to our own ears.

The Caraudio shop owner used to have the Phoenix gold components in her car but it sounds ... like a normal speaker to me GRIN , she has 2 Phoenix gold 10"s sub, 2 sets of Phoenix gold components and both of them powered by 2 Phoenix gold amps. in her hatchback car. Its head unit is an ordinary JVC single cd . I hope shes not reading this GRIN
My Brother is using MB quartz at the moment and it sounds great! but really a turn off because of its hefty price.Some Caraudio shops in my country are so money hungry that they even sell fake Subs eg. Sony Xplod(imitation) for B$100! a few weeks later after using it, Coil damaged.
The Alpine Component is still a mystery to me, new stocks didnt arrived yet at the other shop.
I have decided to use Cadence components to replace the sonys, its within my budget range and it sounds great , its like 2 times better than my current Sonys ! I'll get the Cadence tommorow and install it asap SMILE.
My next mission is finding a Good sub to replace my Sony Xplod 1600watts. ( Sony again)

Uhmmm... "Sony is balony"... The HU's are not too bad... but the rest of their line up is not up to par with units of similar prices. (amps, speakers and subs are just not there for the price)
