I agree with everything that you said except one thing. I think Jensen amps kick ass. The price is great and they are loud and clear. I have 2 of them, and everyone i know says i have the clearest car around. That is also coupled w\ the fact of boston acoustic fronts and excelon 6x9's. Like you said it is opinionated, but I am defending Jensen on this one. No hurt feelings. :)

well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, i just tend to disagree, the build quality isnt great at all, they tend to run very hot, they arent the kind of amp that you can keep for 9-10 years and still run the same way. I look for quality and long lasting amps when im looking for equipment. Jensen also tends to over-rate their equipment. If you compare a Jensen amp to an MTX or JBL amp that you might be able to get for the same price, the MTX will outperform the Jensen in pretty much every category.
For example, lets look at the JBL 300.1 compared to the Jenson 600 watt amp. I've heard both of these amps myself. and im sorry to put it on ya, but the "300 watts" that the jensen is supposed to put out, is not at all clean power, oh, and with that, theres no way in hell that it comes close to 600 watts. if you look at the fuse, that'll probably tell you that they overrate :( so i dont know, maybe its just me, but i'll pay the extra 30 bucks, and go with some quality built equipment that will last me 10+ years. ;)
yes, its better than boss, legacy, pyramid and the like, but its still in the same category. go listen to the JBL 300.1, and then listen to the JXP600M and tell me which one you like better, i bet you will be amazed at the difference :)

I agree they may not be great compared to them, no doubt in my mind. But i would not rate them at bad. To me it's a good amp if you dont have access to online purchases.

and usually if you can go to sears and get the equipment its not all that good, maybe its just me but i dont see sears as the best place to buy your amps or subs. Its in the bad category for a reason, bad build quality and distortion are not worthy of an even questionable rating.

LOL, honestly, I work at sears. I sell TV's and car audio. I know you can have access to it online, but what I ment was that if they dont have a credit card or dont want to bother w\ money orders then it's not a bad way out. I hooked a 4 channel Jensen amp up from sears to a JL 10w0 and alpine 6x9's and it sounds great in a 3000 gt. It's a hatchback obviously and the sub sounds great.
Sears isn't a great place to buy equipment, but someone who wants something decent at a good price it's a good place to go.

lol, strange coincidence, if someone is in a hurry, like most teenage kids are, and you just want "boom" then i guess that might be an okay way to go for you, but i wouldnt reccomend settling for mediocre equipment when you could get a much better piece of equipment for 30-50 more. i have owned a jensen amp before, and believe me, i will never own one again, the amp didnt last long, and i was very dissapointed. its all a matter of opinion, if you think jensen is good, good for you, keep selling it to all the unsuspecting kids, i'd do the same thing if i wanted to make a quick buck too. haha, well, i think this thread is dead, im done.

No, not totally dead... there is an old proverb that fit here.. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Mayby Jensen is trying to improve their line and image in the market... but they have years of bad rap and reputation to undue. Maybe they have changed a bit... but there is along way to go to untarnish what was once a respectibale name.

i am not a Jensen Fan... but a few buks more, will net a high quality product elsewhere.
