The good news... you are an installer and know something about the wiring color codes and speaker line harness. You'll want an antenna for FM is you choose that route and also a power supply that can supply 12.5 - 13.5 volts DC. Something on the order of 150-200 watts power output @12.5 volts DC, from this supply, is a good number for a stock HU. If you add a sub amp later, a larger supply is needed. Not a cheap power supply either. Sure, you could use a car battery and small trickle charger, but batteries do outgas hydrogen (flamable) gasses and are filled with acid based electrolytes. Not a great idea! You probably know the wiring aspects for this HU YES? May need a few harnesses to connect into the OEM HU to speakers and power. Also, depending on the speakers you have now, a few small boxes are recommended. Just dangling raw speakers off the wall are not gonna cut it. Some for of basic enclosure is a good idea. Can make or buy some of these if you look around a bit You still want to do this? Swez xplicitblitzboi on 04/24/2003 14:59:23 ummmm, he didnt say that he was an installer, he said that he had a pro install the stuff in his car. I dont think he has a clue what ur talkin about hehe. Swez on 04/24/2003 17:48:15 Hummm, I am skimming too fast on reading that detail... U R Right Xpl... he did say Pro installer did his car... Ooopps.. good catch and yeah, maybe I did run the concept back assuming he did know more then he might... but it can be done! Just not sure why anyone would. With the price of good Mini systems so low these days, I'd go that route and spend less time and money in the process. Swez ttocs on 04/25/2003 03:30:37 amen....
